Fraud detection is a key feature in the hardware and software design of Premier. It is resilient to several tampering techniques. Recording of more than 100 tamper/ abnormal events with date and time stampings in its non-volatile memory, make Premier a tamper evident meter. In order to substantiate, Premier records snapshots of phase wise voltages, currents and power factor at the time of these events.

Premier  has a unique, built-in, galvanically isolated inductively coupled power supply, which can be energised with the help of an external Power Pack Unit (PPU). This Power Pack Unit is carried by the meter reader to energies the meter in case of no supply. Its usage has inherent advantages due to the following reasons.

* A Single PPU can be used for 1500 meters in a month. Thus the maintenance of a single PPU battery proves to be a better choice than servicing 1500 scattered meters, each having its individual battery.

* Performance of chargeable batteries depends on environment conditions. PPU batteries that are kept outside the meter are not only subject to lesser inclement conditions but also their maintenance becomes simpler.

Accuracy drifts in energy meters not only cause revenue losses but also reduce customer confidence.
